What is Nonsurgical body contouring?

When we are young, we get to benefit from an abundant reserve of natural proteins that keeps our skin soft and healthy. As we age, this foundational storage of collagen and elastin will start to decrease, making the skin lose firmness, which causes fine lines and an older appearance. If you want to boost the tautness of your skin without cosmetic surgery, then nonsurgical body contouring with Morpheus8™ by InMode is an excellent option. By employing state-of-the-art technology that combines radiofrequency (RF) energy and microneedling, nonsurgical body contouring works to encourage the natural generation of elastin and collagen so it's possible to develop tighter, smoother skin. Medical director Dr. Kenneth D. Farr is thrilled to offer nonsurgical body contouring (also known as skin tightening) for people who wish to rejuvenate and firm their skin with effective, minimally invasive alternatives. Call VIP Cosmetic Surgery in Bluffton or Hilton Head, SC today to learn more.

How does Nonsurgical body contouring work?

Nonsurgical body contouring with Morpheus8 is an outpatient treatment that is performed on-site at VIP Cosmetic Surgery. Morpheus8 can be used on almost anywhere on the body, including the thighs, abdomen, arms, chest, neck, and face. Treatments usually take about 30 – 90 minutes to complete, depending on the number of areas being treated. To start, the skin will be cleansed and a topical numbing cream will be applied. Then, the Morpheus8 device will be used to deliver RF microneedling. As soon as the appointment is finished, you'll be free to resume your regular activities.

You may experience mild redness, swelling, and discomfort, but this is normal and usually resolves within a few days. Since the production of collagen and elastin is gradual, you can expect to see your best results within the next few months. Outcomes from nonsurgical body contouring usually last for many years.

Nonsurgical Body Contouring FAQ

How much does nonsurgical body contouring cost?
The cost for a nonsurgical body contouring treatment will vary on your needs and the number of sessions needed to deliver your optimal outcomes. In your first visit, our staff will answer your concerns and estimate your treatment costs.

How many nonsurgical body contouring treatments should I receive?
Every person is different, and some patients may want more treatments than other people. Our staff will take the time to perform a thorough evaluation of your skin and consider your needs and goals to help determine how many sessions you will need. Typically, many patients get 3 – 4 treatments done four weeks apart.

Does nonsurgical body contouring hurt?
Since a local anesthetic is applied to the target area, most patients experience minimal pain during the procedure. During the procedure, we will ask to ensure you are comfortable. When the anesthetic wears off, you may have some discomfort briefly as your skin is healing itself.
